Learn

Neary every organization or business relies on some amount of online training. Companies need to train their employees, educational institutions need to educate their students, and organizations offer certifications and upskilling opportunities.

Keeping these learners focused, however, is tricky when their computers are popping up notifications. Proximity video platforms help students and teachers interact and stay engaged—while the networking aspect adds value.

Classes & training

When hosting team trainings or webinars, consider inviting the team and speakers to a virtual experience, where they can chat beforehand in small groups and explore concepts or ideas after the course. For longer courses, set up a special space or room for the students, where they can meet between sessions, work on team projects, or just trade ideas. Sometimes those side conversations are as valuable as the training itself.

School programs & events

End-of-the-year poster sessions. Online office hours. College and university recruiting. Student contest team workshops. There are many times that even in-person education could use some outside partners and online collaboration. Whether for an hour or a semester, giving students a designated space optimized for working together (and separately) keeps them engaged and strengthens their network.

Onboarding

Onboarding new employees is one of the biggest leadership headaches—and doing it remotely can be a full migraine. Instead of a list of videos to watch and documentation to read, consider building in a more immersive experience, where coworkers can drop in to give their impressions and tips for success.

Imagine the process as a building, where new rooms and activities open as new hires complete each section—whether you use an LMS or other system. If you have a cohort of new hires, they will enjoy seeing others in the process. If you have a solo new hire, you can alert teammates to join them at various stages, enhancing the experience with teambuilding activities and problem solving.
